iTHINK’s I/GCSE Prep Series is designed to aid students in reviewing their first or second year I/GCSE studies. The aim of the series is to help students to reconcile their understanding of the often-vast amount of material they have studied throughout the year.

The I/GCSE Prep courses provide students currently working on their I/GCSE with the tuition and support they require in order to perform to their highest ability in coursework and exams. The first-year course places more focus on developing the fundamental concepts of the subject areas, while our second-year course places more emphasis on examination technique. Furthermore, students will also spend time working with our tutors to develop the most effective study strategies based on their own personal strengths and learning style.

Review fundamental concepts and exam syllabus
Develop the students’ exam techniques to ensure they develop the necessary skills to answer I/GCSE exam questions successfully
Set and mark written work so that students can improve their exam performance
Provide individual and collective advice on how to revise for exams
Teach subject-specific micro- and macro-strategies for use on the I/GCSE examination

Course structure
Pre- and post-course assessment: Students are expected to complete a pre-course assessment to assess their level of competency in the subject matter. This information is used by our tutors to highlight the strengths of each student, as well as possible areas for improvement. The tutor will then teach based on their assessment and will give general feedback in the group class. Should the student need more help on individual topics, they are encouraged to seek help in private individual sessions that can be arranged separately.

Homework: The instructor will assign worksheets in class and students are expected to spend approximately one to two hours prior to each session to complete the work.

Student to Teacher Ratio: The small class size (maximum of 4 students) ensures strong interactions among students and teachers. Students are encouraged to participate actively in class.

Class expectations: Our tutors look forward to working with you this school year and work hard to present the course material in an interesting and exciting manner. All students are expected to act responsibly, attend class regularly, arrive to class on time and participate in course activities and discussions in a positive manner.
